Clifford Chance promotes 11 new partners in London in 29-strong global round

Magic Circle law firm Clifford Chance has elevated 11 London lawyers to its partnership as part of a 29-strong global cohort.

Nearly half of the new partners (14) have a strong focus on work for financial investors clients, the firm said in its 28 April statement.

Eleven of the new partners are women (38%) and three of the 15 new UK and US partners disclosed their ethnicity as non-white.

Clifford Chance has a target of at least 40% female and at least 40% male global partners in the firm by 2030. 

Matthew Layton, Clifford Chance’s managing partner, said: “Together they [the new partners] underline the quality, diversity, and depth of talent that underpins our strategy and they embody the collaborative and inclusive culture that is at the heart of our firm. Promoting these new partners reinforces our ambitious commitment to invest in our firm for today and into the future.”
