AJ Pritchard’s girlfriend Abbie Quinnen has detailed the shocking abuse she received on social media after she suffered third-degree burns while filming a video for social media.

The 24-year-old was badly injured during the hack which involved cutting a glass bottle in half to become a vase by dipping a rope into a flammable chemical and lighting it.

It went badly wrong and her hair and clothes were engulfed in flames, and she has since had to have three skin grafts and 20 hospital visits.

As if this wasn’t enough to deal with, the dancer was also subject to vile comments on Instagram.

She told Victoria Derbyshire on BBC Radio 2 that one message told her she ‘should have burned to death’.

Other horrible messages included one telling her to stay away from her niece and nephew because ‘you’ll scare them’.

Abbie said: ‘It’s so horrible, I just think it’s really sad and I feel a bit sorry for them.’

She suffered second and third degree burns to her face, neck and torso and also lost some of her hair.

Appearing alongside the former Strictly Come Dancing star on Lorraine, she confessed she feared she would never fully recover from the traumatising accident.

‘I think when it happened I was just thinking the worst, my face is never going to look the same again,’ she said.

‘[I thought] I was always going to have scars on my body, I’m never going to be able to dance or perform and do what I love doing, so I instantly thought that was it for me. Luckily my face is healing really well.’

Abbie previously revealed she is not allowed to expose her skin to the sun for two years after she suffered the burns. She is now required to shield her skin from the sun for two years and wear compression garments under her clothes.
