Harrison Ford did not let the shoulder injury he incurred while filming Indiana Jones 5 stop him from making the most of the UK heatwave with a peaceful bicycle ride.

The actor, 79, was forced to take three months off from filming after getting injured on set, but appeared in good spirits as he continued his recovery.

Harrison was spotted riding his bike through Mayfair in London on one of the hottest days of the year, wearing dark, wraparound sunglasses, a grey polo top and black cycling shorts.

It was safety first for the veteran actor as he donned a cycling helmet to protect against any accidents as he made his way around the city.

Harrison has had to take a break from filming to allow his shoulder to fully heal, after once again reprising his iconic role of Indie.

The fifth instalment in the franchise was originally due for release in 2022, but filming for his scenes was put on hold for three months after the mishap on set.

Production has also been affected by closures due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, which also affected many other movies currently in production.

An insider told The Sun: ‘After the initial delays everyone was raring to go. But now Harrison is injured and it is worse than first thought.

‘The film’s bosses have come together to work out the scheduling and it’s chaos. The earliest they think they can restart the production is September.

‘It was not what anyone was expecting so to have to change everything is a huge blow. Everyone was concerned for Harrison and they are glad he is on the mend.’

Indiana Jones 5 will see James Mangold take the mantle, with previous director Steven Spielberg taking over producer duties instead.
