Lea Michele is currently a trending topic on Twitter and it all has to do with Broadway’s big news.
For those who don’t know, the 34-year-old Glee actress got her start on Broadway at the age of eight as Young Cosette in Les Miserables. She later appeared in musicals like Ragtime and Fiddler on the Roof before getting her big break in the Tony-winning show Spring Awakening.
It has been over 13 years since Lea last appeared on a Broadway stage and there have been rumors over the years that she was going to return in a beloved musical, but won’t be happening now.

Lea‘s Glee character Rachel Berry starred in a revival of the classic musical Funny Girl and it has previously been reported that Ryan Murphy obtained the rights to produce a real-life production on Broadway. Rumors swirled for years that Lea would star in the production and she even commented on the reports.
Back at the 2010 Tony Awards, Lea performed the Funny Girl song “Don’t Rain on My Parade.”
It was just announced that Beanie Feldstein will be starring as Fanny Brice in the upcoming 2022 revival of Funny Girl and fans are wondering how Lea is reacting to the news.
While Lea would have been amazing in the role, we’re sure that Beanie is going to be incredible in the upcoming revival. We definitely want to see Lea back on Broadway in the near future!
