McKenna Grace is making her debut on the new season of The Handmaid’s Tale!

The 14-year-old actress is playing Esther Keyes, the child bride of a commander, who takes in June (Elisabeth Moss) and the other fugitive handmaids with the hopes of joining them to take down Gilead.

Despite her young age, McKenna has been gracing our screens for years now and has had roles in movies and TV shows alongside some of the biggest stars in Hollywood!

1. She’s been working since she was 7-years-old!

McKenna made her acting debut in 2013 playing Sydney in the television pilot Joe, Joe & Jane. She then had a recurring role in on the Disney XD series Crash & Bernstein.

In an interview with PETA Kids a few years ago, McKenna talked about being a vegetarian, saying that she felt “really bad for the animals and I love them a lot. Animals are very sweet, and I don’t think they deserve to be tortured.”

Over the years, McKenna has played a young Brie Larson in Captain Marvel, a young Margot Robbie in I, Tonya, a young Kiernan Shipka in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, a young Candice King in The Vampire Diaries, and a young in Kate Siegel in The Haunting of Hill House.

4. She’s one of the youngest producers in Hollywood!

At just 12-years-old, McKenna starred in and produced the 2019 movie adaption of the book Rabbit Cake.

5. She has big dreams of helping animals

In an interview with The CW, McKenna talked about her love for animals, saying that she hopes to be an animal activist when she gets older.

“They make us feel better, come and lick us whenever we feel sad, and they make us happy so I don’t think that we should hurt them!” She said in the interview.

6. She’s already won several awards!

In 2017, McKenna won two Phoenix Film Critics Society Awards for her role in Gifted – winning Breakthrough Performance and Best Performance. In 2020, she won the HCA Award for Next Generation of Hollywood.

7. She always knew she wanted to be an actress

From a very young age, McKenna knew she wanted to be an actress, saying she “wanted to be like Shirley Temple.”

“I’d seen all of the Shirley Temple movies, and I wanted to be one of those kids on the Pee-wee Herman Show because I love Pee-wee Herman. He’s amazing! I wanted to be like him because he still plays with his toys,” McKenna shared with the Collider.

8. She became a Girl Scout before starring in the Amazon movie Troop Zero

Before starring in the 2020 movie Troop Zero alongside Viola Davis and Allison Janney, McKenna became a Girl Scout in 2017.

“Being a Girl Scout means standing up to bullying and volunteering in your community,” Mckenna said while receiving her pin. “Being a Girl Scout means striving to be the best version of yourself. Seeing the patches on all of your vests and knowing you put your heart into earning them is inspiring to me.”

9. She loves horror movies

While promoting her movie 2019 horror flick Annabelle Comes Home, McKenna revealed that her favorite horror movie is The Shining and that she and her dad love all things scary.

10. She will be starring in a new Disney+ movie!

McKenna has signed on to star in the upcoming Disney+ movie Crater.

Here’s a synopsis: A coming-of-age story in the vein of Stand By Me, set on a moon colony. After the death of his father, a boy growing up on a lunar mining colony takes a trip to explore a mysterious crater, along with his four best friends, prior to being permanently relocated to another planet.
